From 5 to 9 August 2024, Denny Hee, on behalf of Cloudsine, participated in a Cyber Security Business Mission organised by SG Tech and CyberSG TIG Collaboration Centre, which brought him to the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur. The mission was more than just a showcase of technological advancements; it was a bridge-building exercise between the cybersecurity ecosystems of Singapore and Malaysia.
Connecting with Cyber Security Stakeholders in Malaysia
The Singaporean delegation was honoured to meet influential
organisations within the cyber security sector – PIKOM, CyberSecurity Malaysia,
the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and TM One. These interactions
provided deep insights into the local market and uncovered potential opportunities
for collaboration.
PIKOM, the National Tech Association of Malaysia, is
indispensable in sustainably driving Malaysia’s digital economy. During the
meeting, Mr. Kian Yew Ong, Chief Executive Officer at PIKOM, offered an
in-depth look into PIKOM’s structure and activities, revealing opportunities
for cross-border partnerships that could drive mutual growth.
CyberSecurity Malaysia is an agency under the Ministry of
Digital that focuses on strengthening Malaysia’s national cybersecurity
framework. The agency’s specialised services include Cyber Security Responsive
Services, Cyber Security Proactive Services, Outreach and Capacity Building,
Strategic Study and Engagement, and Industry and Research Development. Mr.
Zulfeka Bin Zainal Abidin, General Manager, Chief Executive Officer’s Office,
shared his expertise on the cybersecurity landscape in Malaysia. He offered a
forward-looking blueprint that highlighted the country’s strategies to bolster
its cyber defences while creating a conducive environment for tech businesses
to thrive.
Exhibiting at CyberDSA
Another highlight of the mission trip was participating in CyberDSA from 6 to 8 August, an event that served as an excellent platform to showcase our
innovations. During the event, Denny also had the opportunity to present on the WebOrion® stack, as part of the Flash Talk session organised by SGTech. He discussed the various use cases of WebOrion®, highlighting its effectiveness in addressing key cybersecurity challenges. This platform allowed us to engage with attendees directly, providing deeper insights into how our solutions can be tailored to meet the specific needs of businesses in the region.
Networking with Industry Leaders
The business mission also included the Malaysia CyberSecurity Awards and Gala Dinner, as well as networking with PIKOM. These events were great opportunities to connect with industry leaders and stakeholders, fostering relationships that could lead to future collaborations.
Looking Ahead
Cloudsine is excited about the future, as we explore new markets and build bridges between Singapore and its neighboring countries. This mission has not only opened doors for business opportunities but has also strengthened our resolve to contribute to a safer digital environment across borders.
