After months of keeping this under wraps, we’re excited to finally share that Cloudsine has been recognised as a Cybersecurity Industry Call for Innovation (CyberCall) 2023 Awardee! Our innovative solution addresses today’s critical IoT cybersecurity challenges, and we’re thrilled to unveil it to the world.
The Challenge
IP-based cameras are susceptible to cyberattacks due to vulnerabilities like poor user configuration and outdated firmware. The common solution in the market is a Web Application Firewall, which is insufficient for IP cameras as it only supports HTTP and lacks deep packet inspection of L7 protocols like RTSP and ONVIF. It also lacks lightweight edge deployment options and targets mainly web application threats.
Recognising these gaps, CyberCall 2023 presented a challenge: develop a lightweight, edge-deployable solution to protect IP cameras and NVRs from exploitation.
Cloudsine’s CyberCall 2023 Solution
Cloudsine underwent a rigorous evaluation process conducted by top cybersecurity experts, who challenged every aspect of our proposal. This thorough assessment pushed us to ensure our solution was both innovative and robust. Leveraging our deep expertise in cybersecurity and drawing from our WebOrion® stack, we developed a tailored solution with three key components:
- IoT Edge Protector
A specialised Layer 7 firewall designed for edge deployment, the IoT Edge Protector offers enhanced protection for protocols such as RTSP and ONVIF. It is lightweight, efficient, and extendable to other IoT protocols, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Generative AI IoT Security Aide
This innovative Gen AI tool automates the translation of emerging cyber threats into IoT Edge Protector rules, accelerating threat detection and response by 10 times. This ensures rapid adaptation to evolving attack vectors.
- IoT Security Central Dashboard
A centralised platform providing real-time visibility into the security posture of each IoT device. The dashboard enables organisations to monitor and manage their IoT security landscape effectively.
Together, these components form a powerful defence against cyber threats targeting IoT devices, ensuring comprehensive protection at the edge without compromising performance.
Unveiling Our Solution at the Cybersecurity Innovation Day 2024
On 11th November, we proudly shared our IoT security solution. This event was an incredible opportunity to share insights, connect with industry experts, and demonstrate the potential of our solution to revolutionise IoT security.
Our CEO and Founder, Matthias Chin, was also featured on a Zaobao article here.
